LMPD Officer Laid to Rest

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Southeast Christian Church was filled with blue uniforms as hundreds of law enforcement officers said goodbye to one of their own.

Funeral services were held Tuesday for Louisville Metro Police Officer Nick Rodman, who was killed in the line of duty last week.

Mayor Greg Fischer says the city will never let Rodman's compassion, service and sacrifice be forgotten.

LMPD Chief Steve Conrad says Rodman will be remembered forever as a true hero.

As Rodman was laid to rest, mourners stood outside Cave Hill Cemetery to pay respects to the fallen Louisville Police Officer.

Officers from a dozen Kentucky and Indiana Police departments led the funeral procession into Cave Hill cemetery.

Mourners held flags and signs that read "OUR HERO" and "RIP OFFICER RODMAN" as his casket passed by.

Rodman entered Cave Hill to LMPD officers, fire fighters and even children saluting him one last time.
