LEITCHFIELD, Ky -- The Grayson County Sheriff is looking for some help in finding an armed and dangerous fugitive. Sheriff Norm Chaffins says Josh Sandlin of Clarkson got away from police in a chase that began in Hardin County and ended in Grayson County in late January. During the chase, Sandlin drove through fields, yards, and crashed into another vehicle before slamming into a cattle gate...he then fled into some woods.
Sheriff Chaffins believes Sandlin is becoming desperate and has approached homes, burglarized homes, and stolen at lease one vehicle. In one incident he approached a home, the door was answered by a teenage girl. The girl's father came to the door with a gun in his hand and Sandlin left.
Chaffins says Sandlin has his cell number if he wants to surrender, but says if Sandlin becomes cornered he could respond with violence.
Sandlin is described as a career criminal wanted on a federal parole violation.
