Kentucky Speedway Loses Fall XFINITY Race

SPARTA, Ky. -- Kentucky Speedway says Las Vegas' gain is really a good thing for them.

The track is losing its September NASCAR XFINITY Series race to Las Vegas to be a part of a new triple-header weekend starting in 2018.

Track General Manager Mark Simendinger says he's proud of what the race had become at Kentucky but admits "it’s gone as far as it can go here." He says they hope to continue the fall weekend with another series. Both the ARCA and IndyCar Series have raced at the track in the past but says talks with those series "have a long way to go."

Simendinger says they will now put their focus on the July triple-header which will continue unchanged.
