LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A man is dead and a woman wounded after a Saturday shooting in the Bon Air neighborhood.
LMPD says they got a call on a shooting at the Chili's at Bardstown Road and Hikes Lane and arrived to find two people shot.
LMPD Spokesman Dwight Mitchell says 17 year old Troyshawn Young was pronounced dead at the scene and a woman was taken to University of Louisville Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He says they were shot in 3100 block of Dell Brook Avenue and were trying to drive to the hospital and had pulled into the Chili's looking for help.
Mitchell says the victims were in the same car at the time of the shooting but was not sure what their relation to each other is.
JCPS says Young was a student at Fern Creek High School.
This is Louisville's 20th homicide of the year and Mitchell says that is pacing ahead of 2016's record homicide count.
