1999 Derby, Preakness Winner Charismatic Dies

GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- 1999 Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner Charismatic is dead.

The 21-year old stallion was found early Sunday morning at Old Friends, a thoroughbred retirement center in Georgetown.

Charismatic was trained by Hall of Famer D. Wayke Lukas, and became an unlikely Triple Crown contender after winning the Derby and Preakness, but suffered multiple fractures in his left front leg at Belmont.
