Bridgeman Resigns From U Of L Board Of Trustees

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville's newly appointed board already has a vacancy.

Former U of L basketball star Junior Bridgeman has resigned from the board less than a month after Governor Bevin used a new state law to install it.

In his resignation letter, Bridgeman said commitments to his business would prevent him from giving the board his full attention.  Bridgeman served as the chairman of the board Bevin installed for a brief time last year before a court struck it down.

Bevin says he's working to fill the seat but declined to say who he was considering.
