LOUISVILLE, Ky -- Walmart will not locate in west Louisville, but a local company is committed to bringing new business to the area.
TMG Development helped make one final push to bring Walmart to 18th and Broadway, but even with 7000 signatures in support, company officials said no. The company says it is going back to its original plans to make the property a multiple use site including retail, financial businesses as well as a pharmacy.
TMG is also talking with other large retailers about the site including Target and Meijer. TMG says they've had some assistance from the city, but additional incentives would be very welcome.
