Two Inmates Sue Metro Corrections In Federal Court

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Two inmates are suing Louisville Metro Corrections claiming they were wrongfully incarcerated.

Jacob Healey was sentenced to 72 hours in Metro Corrections last month but in the suit filed in federal court, he claims he was held for 85 hours and only released then because he started asking why he was being held longer. Larry Hibbs, Jr. was in custody in July of 2016 for 30 days and was ordered by a judge to have work release. He claims corrections officials denied him that opportunity for ten days. The two men are asking for class action status which would allow other inmates to join the suit.

The suit comes two weeks after a Jefferson District Judge threatened to hold jail officials in contempt over previous errors
