UK To Attempt World Record Roar Saturday

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- UK wants to create a world record roar this weekend.

At three points during Saturday's game between Kentucky and Kansas at Rupp Arena, a Guinness World Records representative will measure the crowd noise as the school attempts to break the record for the loudest indoor crowd cheer. The current record holder is the Sacramento Kings, who recorded a roar that reached 126 decibels in 2013, a noise level equivalent to a jet taking off. The first attempt will be after team introductions with the other two attempts to be announced as the game goes on.

UK Healthcare will provide ear plugs for those who may be sensitive to the noise.
