Elizabethtown Police Warn Of Fake Cops

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. -- A Hardin County town has a fake cop problem.

Elizabethtown Police say they've had two incidents in the last day involving a black Ford Mustang pulling over cars and then driving off.-- Officer Virgil Willoughby says the incidents are concerning, citing cases from across the country where people have been abducted or killed.

He says if you are pulled over and aren't sure it is a real officer, turn on your flashers, call 911 and drive to a safe place.

Along with Elizabethtown Police, the Hardin County Sheriff's Office is reporting a similar situation involving an older model gold Chrysler.
