(Washington, DC) - Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is showing his support for a bipartisan proposal on gun control.
The Kentucky Republican applauded the group of 20 senators headed by John Cornyn and Chris Murphy on their proposed framework to address gun violence in the United States. McConnell also stated that the proposal shows "the value of dialogue and cooperation."
The legislation would include incentives for states to implement "red flag" laws, as well as funding for mental health services and school safety.
This development comes after a slew of deadly mass shootings this spring.
