(Washington, DC) - Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell will vote no on the confirmation of Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson.
McConnell said he had an open mind, but decided to oppose the federal appellate judge after her performance before the Judiciary Committee this week. He argued Jackson repeatedly deflected basic questions about her judicial philosophy.
He also accused her of sidestepping questions about specific rulings. McConnell called it an endless circle of evasion.
Jackson would be the first Black woman to ever serve on the Supreme Court if she's confirmed.
