(Indianapolis, IN) - Schools across Indiana can stop counting coronavirus cases and people who have close contacts.

The Indiana Department of Health says local schools no longer have to report positive cases or do any contact tracing among students.

Public health managers want schools to continue to send kids home if they test positive, but the state will no longer keep a running count of cases.

State Health Commissioner Dr. Kris Box said the new guidelines reflect the massive drop in coronavirus cases across Indiana.
