LOUISVILLE, Ky. - More than five months after his death, authorities have made arrests in the killing of Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputy Brandon Shirley.
Police announced the indictment and arrests of 28-year-old Jesse Christopher Johnson and 18-year-old Marquis Mitchell. The two men are charged with murder.
Johnson and MItchell are accused of fatally shooting Deputy Shirley at a Shively car lot where he was working off-duty security.
Police are not commenting on a possible motive for the crime. Chief Erika Shields said the two suspects need to be convicted and "put where they belong, caged like animals."
