Governor Beshear Says COVID-19 Levels Are Escalating In Kentucky

(Frankfort, KY) - Governor Andy Beshear says the effect of COVID-19 on Kentucky is escalating once again.

Beshear announced Monday that there were 15,936 new COVID-19 cases were reported, and the average test positivity rate was 8.79% during the week ending on December 5th.

More than a thousand people are hospitalized for COVID-19 related illnesses, with nearly 170 on ventilators. 

A total of over 2.7 million Kentuckians have received at least one dose of the COVID vaccine.
