DEL MAR, Calif.-- Knicks Go is the 5-2 morning line favorite to win the Breeders' Cup Classic.

Nine horses are entered in the $6 million race, the richest of the Championships being run this weekend at Del Mar in California.

Trained by Brad Cox, Knicks Go has four wins in six starts this year. Cox also trains Classic contender Essential Quality, the second choice at 3-1.

Also in the Classic field: controversial Kentucky Derby winner Medina Spirit, who is trained by Bob Baffert; and Art Collector, who will be ridden by Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith.

The $2 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile usually produces the early favorite for the Kentucky Derby. Jack Christopher is the morning line favorite. Corniche (core-NEESH) is the second choice and will be ridden by Mike Smith.

The Breeders' Cup Championships are Friday and Saturday. Del Mar is hosting the event for the second time in four years.
