(Louisville, KY) - A new report details the financial cost of gun violence in Louisville Metro.
The National Institute for Criminal Justice Reform estimates taxpayers spent at least $155 million in 2020 when Louisville recorded a record 173 homicides. That doesn't include the cost of shootings in which a victim survived.
Louisville is expected to set a new homicide record this year.
