Louisville Metro Corrections Begins Vaccinating Inmates Against COVID-19

(Louisville, KY) - The process of vaccinating Louisville Metro Department of Corrections inmates is underway.

Under Phase 1C of Metro's vaccine distribution plan, inmates 60 and older are currently qualified to get shots at the jail.

Metro Corrections officials say 20 inmates received the single-dose Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) COVID-19 vaccine Wednesday.

They say the single-dose vaccine allows inmates to be fully protected before they're released.
