(Lexington, KY) - Central and southern Kentucky are preparing for a major ice storm.
An Ice Storm Warning is out for Wednesday and Thursday for areas along and south of I-64. The area is expected to receive significant amounts of freezing rain and accumulations of between a quarter and three-quarters of an inch of ice on roads.
Governor Andy Beshear is urging Kentuckians to make a safety plan and to check in on neighbors and friends.
Areas north of the interstate are under a Winter Weather Advisory, where sleet and light snow are expected.
