NYPD Warns No One Will Be Allowed Into Times Square For Ball Drop

(New York, NY) - The NYPD is warning people around New York City to stay away from Times Square on New Year's Eve night, as the area will be closed off due to the pandemic.

Chief of Department Terry Monahan says people will have to watch on TV this year, as no one from the general public is allowed to attend in person

Although the world-famous ball drop is still happening, the "crossroads of the world" will be closed off to traffic.

This is only the third time in over 100 years that no crowds will pack into Times Square, as it happened twice during World War Two.
