(Frankfort, KY) - Kentucky has shattered a weekly record for new COVID-19 cases.
Governor Andy Beshear announced that the commonwealth had 6,126 new cases of the virus in the last seven days, including 616 on Sunday. The previous record had only been set the week before.
The governor also reported four new COVID-19 related deaths.
A total of 72,617 Kentuckians have tested positive for the virus, and just over 1,200 have died since the pandemic began.
