(Washington, DC) - Senator Rand Paul is thanking Washington, DC police for their protection.
Paul tweeted early Friday morning that he was attacked by a "crazed mob" of over 100 people.
The alleged attack happened while the Kentucky senator was leaving the White House following President Trump's nomination acceptance speech during the Republican National Convention.
Paul said DC police "literally" saved his life.
