University of Louisville Suspends Sports After COVID-19 Outbreak

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - 29 student-athletes at the University of Louisville have tested positive for COVID-19 in cases that were traced back to an off-campus party.

As a result, the school has temporarily suspended team-related activities of men's and women's soccer, field hockey and volleyball.

Athletics Director Vince Tyra says he's "incredibly disappointed and frustrated." He says the school is taking it very seriously and the athletes should "take it more seriously."

Tyra says men's soccer is the "leader in the clubhouse" involving the athletes who tested positive for the virus.
