(Louisville, KY) - Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer is requesting proposals for a top-to-bottom review of the Metro Police Department.
He made the announcement Wednesday, after thanking the city for peaceful protests overnight. This review will focus on training, use of force, bias-free policing and community engagement.
Fischer says it's part of the process to look for a new police chief, after the firing of Steve Conrad this week.
Conrad was let go after it was learned his officers didn't turn on their body cameras during the fatal shooting of David McAtee.
