Governor Holcomb Hopes To Start Reopening Indiana In May

(Indianapolis, IN) - Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb says he hopes to start to reopen the state in a couple of weeks.

The governor Thursday said he'd like to open some parts of the state in early May. To make that happen, the governor says the coronavirus numbers in Indiana must improve.

The State Department of Health added 587 new cases and 14 new deaths to the state's count on Thursday.

Indiana won't be alone when it reopens. Governor Holcomb has signed-on to an agreement with the governors of Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, and Kentucky to work together on reopening their states.

Holcomb says the agreement is mostly meant to keep each state in the loop as to what the others are doing in their fight against the coronavirus.
