The mother of Minnesota Timberwolves player Karl-Anthony Towns has died following complications from COVID-19.
A spokesperson for the family says they're heartbroken and are grateful for the outpouring support.
Last month, Towns posted on Instagram his mom was put into a medically induced coma after being infected. He added the disease needs to be taken seriously.
