(Washington, DC) - Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says he has the votes to move ahead with an impeachment trial.
The Kentucky Republican said it will mirror the impeachment trial of Bill Clinton.
Both sides will present their cases, then Senators will be allowed to ask written questions of both sides. At that time, they will then decide if they want to call any additional witnesses.
McConnell said that he hopes his announcement will encourage House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to forward the articles of impeachment so they can begin.
