LMPD Working To Recruit Close To 100 New Officers

(Louisville, KY) - LMPD is hoping to recruit more than 90 new officers next year.

A class of recruits is scheduled for February of 2020 and another one in June.

Chief Steve Conrad says he expects to lose about 100 officers next summer due to retirements and resignations.

Department officials say they know it's a tough job, and that's why the best recruits are needed.
