(Louisville, KY) - A new five-star school rating system gives Jefferson County Public Schools some mixed results.
In the rankings released Tuesday, the JCPS district as a whole received two out of five stars.
49 of the district's schools are rated as one-star, 33 are two stars, 43 are three stars, six are four stars and seven JCPS schools enjoy five-star status.
Elementary and middle school ratings are based on test scores and growth, while high schools are rated on test scores, graduation rates and other factors showing readiness for college and career.
