(Washington, DC) - Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says the Democrats' call for the impeachment of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh is "sad and embarrassing."
Speaking on the Senate floor, the Kentucky Republican said Democratic presidential candidates are trying to grab onto a thinly sourced and unsubstantiated accusation of sexual abuse against Kavanaugh.
This comes after The New York Times reported that Max Stier told the FBI that Kavanaugh exposed himself at a party when they were in school at Yale back in the 1980s.
McConnell says the Democrats' threat to impeach is "laughable" and claimed it is a deliberate effort to attack judicial independence.
