Cardinals Fall To Notre Dame In Season Opener

(Louisville, KY) - Ian Book's 11-yard touchdown run late in the first half broke a 14-all tie and ninth-ranked Notre Dame went on to win 35-17 in the season opener at Louisville.

Louisville was competitive from the start in what was head coach Scott Satterfield's first game leading the Cards.

Three turnovers and four sacks for Louisville ultimately was the difference. Quarterback Jawon Pass had two touchdown runs for the Cardinals, who led 14-7 in the first quarter.

Louisville is back at home on Saturday night against Eastern Kentucky. Kickoff is at 7 p.m., pregame coverage begins at 4 on Cards Radio 790 KRD.
