(Frankfort, KY) - Kentucky State Police are stepping up traffic enforcement for the days surrounding Independence Day.
Troopers are participating in the national Operation Crash Awareness Reduction Effort, which began Wednesday and ends Friday night.
Officers will be putting a high emphasis on violations such as speeding, failure to wear a seatbelt, and impaired and distracted driving.
Commercial vehicles will also be subject to enhanced enforcement.
