Two LMDC Employees Charged With Misconduct

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Two Louisville Metro Department of Corrections employees have found themselves on the other side of the law.

Tiffany Welch is charged with two counts of misconduct for allegedly forming a personal relationship with an inmate and using her position to provide favors to the inmate.

She's accused of trying to avoid detection of the relationship, and putting other inmates in jeopardy by failing to report events.

Sharonda Simmons, a Metro Corrections civilian supervisor, was also charged with misconduct for allegedly communicating with others attempting to speed up the same inmate’s release.

Both have been suspended without pay.
