LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Bellarmine University is about to get a lot more national exposure.
The school is joining the Atlantic Sun Conference, a move that will elevate Bellarmine to NCAA Division I status in athletics.
Bellarmine's coaches say that means more TV coverage and recruiting opportunities. Conference games are broadcast on the ESPN platform.
The Atlantic Sun includes Florida Gulf Coast, Liberty, North Florida, Kennesaw State and five other schools.
Bellarmine will begin play in the conference in 2020.
