The family of a Louisville man who committed suicide is suing Jerry Springer and NBC.
The suit filed in Jefferson Circuit Court last week claims Blake Alvey was ambushed by The Jerry Springer Show last May where his fiance told him she'd cheated on him, was leaving him and had sold her engagement ring.
Alvey shot himself days after the show aired with the suit saying the show knew the situation would cause an extreme reaction.
The suit accuses the show of reckless disregard for the lives and safety of others.
