SHIVELY, Ky. -- A 7-year-old girl was shot in the head while playing with a gun.
It happened Tuesday afternoon inside an apartment on Crums Lane in Shively.
Police say the girl and her 11-year-old brother were playing with a gun when it accidentally fired, striking her in the head.
The girl is in critical condition at the hospital.
Police say the children's uncle -- who is their guardian -- was outside the apartment when the girl was shot.
