It’s Day 34 and polls are out with Senate votes on the way. What are the most recent polls indicating about the partial government shutdown? Does there appear to be any movement from either side in the big Senate votes scheduled for Thursday? What was the latest offer that House Democrats made to President Trump including 5-billion-dollars? NBC News Radio’s Michael Bower joins Tony with the latest.

At least five people were killed when a gunman opened fire in a SunTrust Bank in Sebring, Florida, on Wednesday. The 21-year-old suspect barricaded himself inside before later surrendering to authorities, police said.  The suspect had contacted authorities and told them that he fired shots inside the bank, sending officers rushing to the scene. Negotiations to get the barricaded shooter to leave weren't successful, police said, so a SWAT team was sent in. Negotiations then continued and the "suspect eventually surrendered."  ABC's Pete Combs has the  the latest.

The company Blue Origin took the next step in its quest to lift paying passengers – space tourists – into low orbit on Wednesday, when it successfully launched a powerful rocket from a remote pad in West Texas. The unmanned test was a precursor to human flights that could begin later this year.  ABC's Jim Ryan is following and joins Tony.
