Congressman John Yarmuth started by saying that his tweets about the Covington Catholic incident were legitimate and that he still believes the actions of the students was inappropriate. He also discussed the perceived lack of chaperones for the students and why they did not remove the students from the situation, the lack of credibility of Nick Sandmann’s statement and his interaction with Nathan Phillips, and the need to allow political speech to continue. The Congressman also touched on the possible endgame for the government shutdown.
