LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The congressman representing northern Kentucky says he's standing by the students of Covington Catholic.
Fourth district Rep. Thomas Massie tweeted "it’s my honor to represent them" in the wake of the controversial encounter in Washington, D.C. over the weekend.
Massie says after watching all the videos and getting some context, he feels Nick Sandman, the student seen in the video with the Native American drummer, did the right thing.
Massie says he felt like he needed to stand up for the students because "everybody in a position of responsibility" had either "got out of the way or thrown the kids under the bus."
