(Louisville, KY) - Whooping Cough cases are on the rise in Louisville.
The Department of Public Health and Wellness says cases have doubled over the past year.
The highly contagious respiratory infection affected 62 people last year, up from 27 in 2017.
There is a vaccine that prevents against the illness and health officials say anyone who's able to, should get it.
Parents without health insurance should contact the Department of Public Health and Wellness for options about immunizations.
