LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A joyride in a stolen ambulance lands a woman in Metro Corrections.
LMPD says 41 year old Stacey Tomes stole the ambulance from Norton Hospital downtown a little after 3:00 Thursday morning, leading officers on a chase through downtown onto Frankfort Avenue and into the St. Matthews area.
The 15 minute chase ended on St. Germaine Court near Broadfields Drive.
Tomes hit at least one other car during the chase. Police are still investigating how she stole the ambulance.
Tomes is facing theft, wanton endangerment and fleeing from police charges and is due in court on Friday.
