Cards Fall Hard To Top-Ranked Tide

(Orlando, FL) - Tua Tagovailoa started under center and dazzled as top-ranked Alabama clobbered Louisville 51-14 at the Camping World Kickoff in Orlando.

Tagovailoa completed 12-of-16 passes for 227 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for a third for the defending National Champions.

Josh Jacobs returned a kickoff 77 yards for a touchdown and Shyheim Carter took an interception 45 yards to the house for the Tide in the season open victory.

The Cardinals trailed 28-0 at the half and had just 16 rushing yards on 26 carries as a team.

Jawon Pass found Kemari Averett for a pair of second half touchdowns in defeat.

Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino says Jawon Pass played well early on but the Alabama defense made things difficult as the game progressed.
