(LOUISVILLE, KY) - The Jefferson County Board of Education is submitting its response to the Kentucky Department of Education regarding a possible state takeover of the district.
Board members met Monday evening to finalize the district's response after a longer meeting last Friday night.
JCPS responded to the initial offer from the Kentucky Department of Education on August 10th and interim commissioner Wayne Lewis replied the same day.
The board met for nearly four hours on Friday without coming to a consensus.
The board is scheduled to meet again Tuesday night in anticipation of another quick response from Lewis.
