Moscow -- The White House says Senator Rand Paul asked for a letter of introduction from President Trump to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The Kentucky Republican delivered the letter to Putin's representatives in Moscow. Paul said the letter emphasized the importance of working together in "various areas including countering terrorism, enhancing legislative dialogue and resuming cultural exchanges." Putin and President Trump held a summit in Helsinki last month.
