Dream Select Howard With First Pick In WNBA Draft

(New York, NY) - The Atlanta Dream are taking Rhyne Howard with the top overall pick in the WNBA Draft.

Atlanta selected the Kentucky guard with the pick it acquired in a trade with the Washington Mystics last week.

The Indiana Fever followed in the draft order as they took Baylor forward NaLyssa Smith second overall. Ole Miss center Shakira Austin went third overall to the Mystics.

Rounding out the top five was Louisville forward Emily Engstler, who went to the Fever, and Oregon center Nyara Sabally was taken fifth by the New York Liberty.
