Police Officer Accused of Stealing from Youth Football League

CLARK COUNTY, Ind. -- A southern Indiana police officer is accused of stealing money from a youth football league.

Theft charges were filed against Clarksville Police Officer Joseph Hoskins.

The prosecutor says Hoskins stole more than $5,000 from the Little Generals Youth Football League.     Hoskins was the league's treasurer.

The officer's attorney says the transactions were made accidentally, and Hoskins returned the money.     He's been suspended from the police department.
