After people were horrified by video of a passenger getting dragged off a full United Express flight by airport police, the head of United's parent company said the airline was reaching out to the man to "resolve this situation." Hours later on Monday, his tone turned more defensive. He described the man as "disruptive and belligerent." By Tuesday afternoon, almost two days after the Sunday evening confrontation in Chicago, CEO Oscar Munoz issued his most contrite apology yet as details emerged about the man seen on cellphone videos recorded by other passengers at O'Hare Airport. Munoz latest statement described the removal as "truly horrific," and plans a full review of policies. Whether his PR or legal department, or both, caused the about face, one can only speculate. But it stands to reason at there's more to come on this one. Tony takes a look.

The U.S. Treasury reports that tax filings are down from this time last year, between 4% and 8%, but that tax revenues are up nearly seven billion dollars from the same period in 2016. Procrastination seems to be the major culprit for the filing decline and professional tax preparers are preparing for a crush of business as the April 18th deadline draws nearer.
