LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Louisville City FC has hit its first major milestone.

The club has surpassed 1,000 season ticket deposits for the team’s inaugural Louisville campaign next spring, just over a month since it was announced the team was coming to town. Team officials haven't set a specific target but say they would like to have between 2,000 and 4,000 season tickets to start the season.

Team co-owner Wayne Estopinal says they didn't see much of a boost from the World Cup but expect to see a boost when the schedule is finalized later this year.

Estopinal says fans will starts to see players at community events later this fall.
